Big week! BOUGHT MY FIRST CAR!!!!

I bought my first car on Monday night!!! :D I've been looking for a car since May, as my brother is going to a different school next semester and I won't be able to carpool with him. I needed something with 4WD, or at least AWD since I'm dealing with snow. And I didn't want a humongous gas guzzling SUV or a truck either so I was looking at Toyota RAV4s, Ford Escapes, Suburu Foresters, Suzuki Grand Vitaras, Honda CRVs, and a few others. I was praying about finding one and having wisdom and guidance on which one to buy the whole time! :)

My original goal was to get a car before the month of July, but I only checked out one car before then. It was a black Toyota RAV4, which was originally my automobile of choice. But the owners failed to mention that the entire windshield was cracked from the left to the right, and then bottom to top, so I was not exactly comfortable buying it because I didn't feel like I could trust them. So, no other (decent) cars came up. Then there was a 2002 yellow Ford Escape, which I thought was totally adorable! And I don't usually like yellow cars. But it sold the next day before we could look at it. On last Thursday my mom found a car online (Suzuki Grand Vitara w/65,000 miles) and we talked about taking a look, because the miles were so low, but I don't know, something about it just wasn't appealing to me.

Well, on Monday, my mom went online and started looking at cars again (she really wanted to find me one :P) and came across a nice looking white Ford Escape. But it had 2WD, so that was out. Then literally 20 seconds later, she calls me back into her room and shows me a car. It's a 2002 yellow Ford Escape with 111,000 miles (less than normal for a 2002) and 4WD. We drove around 1 1/2 hours to go take a look, bought the car, and drove home, getting back at around midnight. Here' s a pic of the car! Same make and model, but not "my" car. I don't have my own pic yet. I don't know why exactly, but I really love the car :)

So now I have college/job/anything else transportation! Yay!

Big week! Wisdom teeth!!!!!

Well this week's events have been big ones, a few milestones in my life. ~NOTE~ This is going to be a two-part post because it won't fit on one :)

My next milestone this week was getting my wisdom teeth out. 7am this morning, to be exact. My brother was going to get his out this summer, and my mom decided to get ours done the same day to get it all over with. I requested to go first because I know my brother, and I did not want to see him come out of it before I went in :/ So I got the first appt of the day, 7am so I stayed up really late last night so I'd be more tired going in and not so nervous. I was actually really excited because they've been coming in and causing pain lately. I wasn't really nervous at all until last night, when my BEST FRIEND (:P) asks me if I'm ready to have, and I quote, "my gums ripped open and my teeth yanked out". Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but whatever :P and besides, what are friends for?

So I went in at 7 and my brother went in at 9. My first IV actually - oddly enough I've never had a needle in the elbow vein (whatever you call it) before - and the Dr. said I did the best he's ever seen. IDK if he was just being nice. :P then the nurse started to lean me back and literally three seconds later, I was out. Woke up, came home, and have been in bed all day drinking all liquids.

Ooh but I want to tell you about my brother! Ok so he's 6'2", around 180 pounds. So pretty big and muscular. Apparently the Dr. had to give him two times the normal amount of sedation during the surgery because he was talking the whole time and asking questions about how the medicine was affecting his brain :P. Then he went kinda high and was saying so I've been told hilarious things to the nurses.

Then he came home and I said hi. He went *cue girly attitude voice* "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyy!" comeplete with a wave. Haha so then he got all defiant, and wouldn't sit down. He told my mom he wanted to test his limits and go down the stairs. My mom said no, and he sat down. Then she left the room. He turns to me and goes "Now's my chance". LOL and then he tried to go downstairs, but luckily my dad got him and forced him to lay down. He was still on meds because of how much he'd had, and he doesn't remember any of it. I was just boring and didn't do anything interesting coming out of the surgery.

So that's been fun! LOL

My procedure went pretty well, but they had a harder time with me. My top 2 were up really high, but my bottom two were really rooted in, so the doctor had to cut out some of my jaw bone (eek!). My brother's bottom to were completely in already, and the top two were pretty far down so his was easy, minus the talking :P.

I came out really well and so far it really hasn't been half bad! I think there was a ton more hype about the pain and everything than necessary. Seriously, it wasn't bad at all!

Our dentist called this afternoon to check up on us, which I thought was awesome. My brother brought home his teeth but I didn't because I didn't get the chance to ask before I went under. So I asked if the dentist still had them, and he said that they were in a hazardous waste bin (weird) but he could get them out for me :P. He also said because of the bone situation, I'll be really swollen and be way more sore than my brother. But I'm a little better with pain that him I think so I should be fine.

Well I didn't post a random pic in the last post, so I will post one here! Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides started filming around 3ish weeks ago, and this is the first photo from the production. Paparazzi photo obviously, not really from the company. I think it's in Hawaii, and that's Penelope Cruz, who plays Blackbeard's daughter, and is rumored to be Jack Sparrow's love interest. I'm not liking that, because I don't think Jack is a serious love interest kind of guy. But oh well, we'll see how it works. I loved the first POTC, and liked the last two, so I'm hoping this one will be good even without Keira and Orlando (who married fiancee Miranda Kerr last weekend!).


BTW, I just have to say that I might still have some drugs in me, so if something doesn't make sense, that's probably the reason. :)

Dolls

I'm totally IN LOVE with Toy Story 3. So far I've seen it three times and of course it's better every time. But after seeing it, like everybody else, I had to go and get out what is left of my childhood toys. Mostly Disney and Barbie dolls, along with some plush, three American Girls and a Bitty Baby. I already had all of my Disney dolls on a shelf in my closet, so I've been looking at them first.

Most of them are getting up there in age - I think the oldest is a Belle from BatB which is from 1991, and the youngest is Giselle from Enchanted, which is from 2007. Anyway, the rest of the dolls are in between there, but most are from the 90s. I got them all out and started looking them over and I noticed some smudges on faces and hair starting to get a bit dodgy.

Last Thursday I had nothing to do all day, so I devoted most of the day so care and maintenance of my old dolls. Most just needed a little facial cleaning, to get off some smudges around the chin and jawline area, so I washed all of their faces and then smoothed out everyone's hair, got rid of dust, and straightened out their clothes.

There were three though that needed some extra treatment, so I tried out a Barbie hair-restoring technique to get the frizz out and anything where the hair was damaged. One Barbie, Li Shang from Mulan, and Pocahontas all got hair makeovers, and here's a photo of the before, during, and finished product of Shang's hair. I looked up a photo of the original new doll and then I did my best to recreate the style. Not bad! Click to view larger.

I've ordered some new Disney dolls off of DisneyStore.com because they were on sale - 2 for $20 and some were really cute! They had all of the princes except for the Beast, which is a huge bummer because he's my favorite and my Belle doll never had her prince! So I'm hoping they come out with one before too long.

I also saw that they're starting to introduce some toys from Tangled, and I saw the Rapunzel doll. Looks cute, but I really want a Flynn Rider doll! As long as he has dramatic eyebrows like the trailer shows. :)

I found out that collecting dolls can actually be super good for $$ in the future, depending on which dolls you have. Not that I plan on selling any, but sometimes the expensive ones get sold for super low prices so I look into them then. Like the Jane Porter doll from Tarzan, Giselle from Enchanted, or Megara and Esmeralda. I was lucky enough to find Jane and Giselle for about $15 each on eBay last year, which is less than 1/2 of the usual price for new NRFB dolls. I had the Jane doll when I was little, but I think it got sold in a lawn sale :'( But I have one now.

This Tiana doll is GORGEOUS. I don't like any of the other Tiana dolls out there, but this one is amazing.

I just love the little pose these two are in! It's so sweet. :)

LiLo behind bars! More Miley craziness

Will it ever end? Probably not.

Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to spend 90 days in jail starting July 20th, according to People.com. She started crying in the court room and really just ended up looking like a bigger mess than before. I blame her mother for a lot of it. She won't admit to any of Lindsey's issues and won't help her daughter overcome any of them. Anyway Freaky Friday was on Disney Channel this week so it was a little weird for me to see. Because it was from her prime time in her career and right now she's the lowest she's ever been.
And then there's her little mini-me, Miley! Oh boy. I just saw a bunch of pics of her trying to be dangerous, edgy, and sexy. She's been simulating girl-on-girl kisses during performances and also girl/guy kisses. It's not working Miley! You just look like a cheap stripper. It's so disappointing because so many kids look up to her!
Miley's first look comes complete with booty shorts and a stripper hat! The second looks like trailer trash trying to be...I dunno, a vampire or something.

And there's Britney....who I won't even start on....oh and Hilary Duff too. She sure sunk low. I think Alyson Michalka is waaaaaaay down there now. She just doesn't get the same amount of attention because she was never that famous.

I'm gonna die!!!!! LOL, that's from Despicable Me. The little girl, Agnes, is so cute that I'm going to see the movie just for the "fluffy" parts! She reminds me of Boo from Monsters Inc. Here's a link to her "fluffy" lines. Yeah...

So I was playing around with photoshop tonight. I injured my knee on the treadmill last night, so I didn't run tonight and therefore I had lots of energy and couldn't get sleepy. So I spent a few hours doing nothing and here's what came up with! :P The first photos are what I began with, and the one following is what I did to it.



And y'all know I'm not a Twilight fan (on the third transformation pic) so don't freak out. I was just bored.

So that's about it, I'm about to zonk out now (as I should) but yeah.....And a random note, but I want a Mary Poppins "Jolly Holiday" costume. ^_^
